An exciting microsite linked with a social media campaign for the Standard Chartered Bank UAE.

The Standard Chartered Bank UAE continues to promote one of the most popular sporting events in Dubai, the Standard Chartered Dubai Marathon 2011, its 7th consecutive year.

The bank has launched the Go-the-Distance campaign linked with Facebook, which is essentially a voting application also connected to the Bank's existing Facebook page where the campaign's live results are published. On the Go-the-Distance website, users share their reasons/stories to run a marathon by uploading videos and photos. The website is smartly integrated with Facebook. Each time a video or photo is liked or shared (via Facebook Like and Share buttons) by someone, it is published back to his Facebook feed. That means that his friends will see it, and as a side effect, a lot more people will be seeing the Standard Chartered Bank’s branding and becoming fans of the bank. Whoever’s story attracts the most Likes and Shares will win an iPhone4 from the bank. The website also incorporates Facebook Comments system to allow visitors and users to share their comments on videos and photos.

We also developed a supporting content management system which enables the SCB administrator to view, publish, un-publish and remove the content uploaded by users of the website. There is also a user management area in the CMS which allows the administrator to view and manage the website's registered users. Due to the powerful integration with the social media, the website is attracting hundreds of visitors every day.
